When You Feel Everything

Feelings, we all have them!

Sometimes they’re good, other times, they’re not so good.

We’ve all made it through the not so good days, no matter the cost. Some of us cope with hard times better than others. Although we’d all like to say we can “just get over it” in a snap, sometimes that isn’t possible. That’s when we put on a brave face and take on the world as if nothing happened in the first place.

Some people have strong feelings, while others don’t. Personally, I’m the first one. Whether it’s sights, sounds or touches, I’m probably the first one to notice. Sometimes, it feels like a blessing, but sometimes, it feels like a curse. A lot of people say someone like that is “too sensitive” while others might say that person is highly aware of everything going on around them.

My feelings, for example, might play out like this: My head feels like it’s been going around in circles for days, in a spiral slope that can’t be good for my brain. I never know what will go on inside my head from day to day.

My heart feels like it could fly right out of my chest, even without a cup of coffee. It’s almost like a need to run around in circles for hours before the high can wear off.

Don’t even get me started on my hands and legs. It’s a miracle if I don’t feel the urge to run a marathon every single day!

There’s also my heart and my head. There may be times where I am completely passionate about one topic, but then get all confused and out of sorts when other stuff comes up. I'm possibly one of the most loyal people you will ever meet, yet feel extremely shy when it comes to making friendships and putting myself out there.

It’s interesting when I meet people out there like me. It’s odd at times, but it feels almost comforting when I see that someone has the same quirks as I do.

College was different, but not too much. These feelings would come and go from time to time, but I could manage them pretty well. In the real world, it’s a little different. You have to fight better, stay stronger, and play harder than you ever did before. Some can come out on top if they mimic how others do it, but lots are not as lucky.

I’d like to think I’m somewhere in the middle when it comes to life. I can get through a normal day, usually at a steady contentedness. I also know that it’s okay to not feel fine and give yourself time to heal through a tough issue. I mean, we are human after all!

So, where do you think you fall in the grand scheme of things? If you're young, like myself, it’s difficult to say, but you’ll find out soon… trust me. Just know that you can take your time with life, no matter where you are. That’s the thing to remember. And if you stay strong, you can always come out on top!
