OUR FAVORITE THINGS: 5 Resources for Achieving Your Dreams This Year (+ A Giveaway!)

[Welcome to Our Favorite Things, a series featuringyou guessed it!our favorite things. From books to brands to tunes to film, these are all things we at Windrose want to shout from the rooftops about.]

As I wrote in my previous post, I love making goals. Coupled with this love for goals is a love of paper products that can help you achieve said goals.

So today I have 5 recommendations for dreamy planners, resources, and books that can help you achieve your goals in 2018.

P.S. We’re doing another giveaway (!!!!), so read to the end for details.

I’ve been a devoted fan of May Designs since my sweet friends gave me a notebook as a send-off gift for my semester in London. Since then, I’ve relied on their planners for all things That First Year while also using their notebooks for writing daily Morning Pages, tracking my budget, and meal planning each week. What I love about May Designs notebooks are the canvas covers, sewn binding, and how well the mini and classic sized notebooks fit into even my smallest purse, so I can easily bring them with me to coffee shop work days.

1.5.18 FF 5 Resources for Achieving Dreams Horacio.JPG

I’ve been following along with Horacio Printing through social media and email for a while, though I’ve never personally owned one of their planners. But my roommate, Chelsey, received one of Horacio’s dream planners for Christmas, and now it’s all I can do not to immediately order one for myself. The Horacio Printing dream planner is not only gorgeous, but it also include sections for seasonal reflection (be still my reflection-loving HEART) and action plans to achieving your goals. I have low-key planner envy (that’s a lie, given I’ve made my envy very, very known to Chelsey).

I found this free 2018 dream guide after May Designs' CEO, Mica May, recommended it on Instagram. I immediately said YEP, proceeded to download and print it, then devoted my dreaming day at the coffee shop last week to using the dream guide's prompts to reflect on my year and set goals for the new year.

I found this 2018 blog planner from Kara Layne & Co. through Kaitlyn at KVH. Creative. I’m loving that it allows me to break down my ideas for That First Year and my own travel blog into smaller, easily-manageable actions. I’m often guilty of dreaming big ideas, but then becoming so overwhelmed by the scope of the dream that I never actually act on it. This blog planner is helping me to break this dream-paralysis habit of mine.

Speaking of habits... I’ve had so many recommendations for how fantastic The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg is, and so I’m finally reading it this month. Already the prologue has convinced me that building healthy habits are the ways we accomplish our dreams and live better, fuller, more purposeful lives. In chapter one, I literally wept over how cool the brain is (this is a true story). Though I’m only a couple chapters in, I’ve told everyone I know to read this book. So that, my friend, includes you: read this book!
